The Hippodrome Gets Approval

The Brighton Hippodrome and Hippodrome House are set for restoration after receiving approval from Brighton City councillors. The redevelopment plan includes transforming the historic venue into a multifunctional space featuring a performance venue, hotel, bar, and private members’ club.

The restoration aims to revive the Hippodrome's main auditorium as a flexible performance area, preserving its decorative plasterwork. Additionally, plans include a bar, restaurant, rehearsal space, hotel rooms, rooftop bar, and terrace. The project, led by owner Matsim, intends to enhance the building's historic features while bringing it back into use as an entertainment venue for the city.

The unanimous approval by councillors reflects the benefits the development will bring to the area.
